Researching in Google’s free adword keywords tool showed that there was a massive range in keyword bid prices with the ultra competitive keywords such as “Indiana auto insurance quote” or “mesothelioma patient” costing in the high $30 range.
WOW!! A light bulb flashed. Previously I had been building sites targeting low value keywords. Why not build sites whose topics are based around these high priced keywords. If the content is focused enough then relevant ad groups containing these high value key phrases could be targeted to my site. So bingo even though the per click payout is only a certain percentage of the adword bid price it would be a whole lot more than the meager returns I had been getting so far.
This is what I have been doing since then and the returns have really been well worth the effort of stepping back, re-evaluating an average situation and finding a solution to improving it. To many of the more experienced hands the above information may be common knowledge but to those just starting an online business with adsense as their internet income model the above tip is invaluable because lets face it if you are going to put in the time and effort why not work smart and ensure you get maximum returns.
